Microsoft SharePoint Certifications

If you aim for the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 certifications there are two certifications you can get. One is for administrators and one is for developers.

EXAMS YOU HAVE TO TAKE

For the Administrator Certification you need two exams:
Exam 70-667: TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring
Exam 70-668: PRO: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Administrator

This two exams are going to give you the MCITP SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification.

For the Developer Certification you need two exams:
Exam 70-573: TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development
Exam 70-576: PRO: Designing and Developing Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Applications

This two exams are going to give you the MCPD SharePoint Developer 2010 certification.
Here is a certifications path from Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Certification Paths

  2. Hello,

I need help with SP2010 certifications path.

I don't have any background within MS products other than from the end-user perspective. My background is being an Oracle developer. I am at cross-roads and would like to take path towards SP2010. I thought best way to gain knowledge and getting ready for my next job in Sp2010 is by gaining certification in this area to get my initial break during this change.
Are there any pre-req's for either MSITP or MCPD ? Can you pl. shed somelight if i can take this path without any MS technologies background (Admin/developer). Also what would be best way to start this journey.

    I really appreciate any suggestions/feedback
    Thanks in advance
    Jay

  3. Hi Jay, coming from Oracle Developer i don't think you would need a lot of Pre-req.

    Subjects related to SP2010 are:
    - minimal SQLServer 2008 knowledge
    - minimal Active Directory knwoledge (Add users and Groups)
    - minimal DNS knowldege (create A-Records)

The rest will be learnt in the links that i described. You should definitely buy a SharePoint book that is related to taking the exams.
I found as very help full to study one source and then when i don't understand the matter good doing some more google-serch ...

    Hope this helps.

  4. I have been working on SharePoint for around 5 years now. In this duration, I have worked on SP 2003, MOSS 2007 & SP 2010. However, my exposure to SharePoint has been limited to client side scripting (usage of JavaScript) to build other features which are not in built in SharePoint. I want to know if there is any certification program for client side scripting in SharePoint
